Holiday, trips and events

  • Week 258 – February 14th – Bridget Jones Mad about the boy

To enjoy Valentines, we decided to go and see the new film about Bridget Jones, this is meant to be the last one, we will see.

If it is, it went out in style and was a great film, with both sad and laughter moments in the film.

    Very enjoyable evening.

  • Week 257 – February 9th – Toilet seat

We had been out during the day and on the way home, we went into Homebase, not realising that it was closing down and had huge sales on.

We had tried to get a new toilet seat via Next, but both of them had issues with, so were returned.

There was a 60% saving here on the toilets seats, so decided to get one and some other items as well and made a great saving.

This was sad to see Homebase closing, as we had used it a lot during the pandemic.

This was actually easiest toilet seat I have fitted
  • Week 257 – February 7th – Met with Rob Bristow

On this cold wet evening, I went over to Petts Wood and met Rob Bristow. It’s been a few years since we have seen each other.

We went to a restaurant called the Little India.

Never been before, but the food was very good as was the service. Had a great evening with Rob and then went over to the DayLight Inn for a drink and carry on the conversation.  Excellent night.

  • Week 256 – February 2nd – Greenwich – Part 1

As today was a clear day, we went up to Greenwich Park.

It does annoy me that parking here on a Sunday is more expensive than any other day.

They should be encouraging people to be out in the fresh air and enjoying the park.

  • Week 252 – January 12th – Battersea

As the weather was decent, we drove up to Battersea Park and had walk along river Thames and crossed over at Albert Bridge and then walked the Thames on that side before crossing back over at Chelsea Bridge.

We then spent some time in Battersea Power Station, where we had a yummy baguette and coffee, before go back home.

    London
Of course when in London a picture of The Shard.

  • Week 251 – January 4th – Battersea – Part 1

In late afternoon we took a train trip up to Battersea to have a look around before all the Christmas stuff was taken down.

    Some pictures from the trip.

  • Week 251 – January 1st – Better Man

This was definitely something different to start 2025.

We went to the cinema to see this film about Robbie Williams, and his part was played by a chimpanzee. I’m still not sure why this was the case, even when searching about it.

The film was very enjoyable with all the songs from Take That and his solo career.

Obviously a big issue between him and Gary Barlow, but then I wouldn’t be happy if I was writing the songs and not getting the credit.
