  • Week 210 – Mar 24th – TGI

This afternoon, we met up with Claire godson Jack at TGI in Bluewater.

He was going back to university, but up to Lancaster to complete a master’s degree.

This was the first time at TGI’s since the pandemic and talk about a difference in the food size and portions. Of the course the price has gone up, but the food wasn’t near the value as it was before.

You could also see the cost of living kicking in, as there was a queue to get into the restaurant, now there were many empty tables.

    Good luck Jack.

  • Week 210 – Mar 21st – Catch up with Martin

This morning I had a good catch up with Martin Ives. He was looking well and we discussed about a meeting with some of the Chelsfield Exiles players to see how everyone was doing. We’ll see what happens.

For a change it wasn’t raining and also parking was no issue.

  • Week 209 – Mar 16th – Greenwich – Part 2

Some more pictures from our walk around Greenwich.

  • Week 207 – Mar 2nd – Paris baguette

With the weather being reasonable, we took a drive up to Battersea Park and had walk to Battersea Power Station.

Whilst we were there, we felt hungry, but didn’t want something huge.

Whilst in the Battersea Power Station, we came across Paris Baguette and looking at the food on display, it looked very appetising.

The main issue was seating, as it was very busy, we actually left the eatery, but after walking around a bit more, didn’t find anywhere else that we fancied and went back. This time, we managed to grab a table.

I have to say the baguettes and the coffee were excellent and you could order from the table and the items were brought to you.

We decided to have a desert too, and thought it was strange that the order was taking longer than the baguettes.

We were just about to go up the counter, when someone came to us and apologised that they run out of the item, that I ordered.

They showed me items at the counter and I selected something else.

    Would definitely go back there.

  • Week 203 – Feb 4th – Pet Shop Boys

This late afternoon, we went to the Cinema to watch the Pet Shop Boys in concert from there Dreamworld tour of last year and this year.

The concert was from Copenhagen July 2023

It was enjoyable way to watch a concert in leather recliner seats and a good atmosphere.

They were on fine form with all their greatest singles.

    Fully recommended.

  • Week 203 – Feb 3rd – One is NOT amused

We were due to go up a few weeks earlier, but something came up.

So today we travelled up to London and to Bonhams auction house, to see items that would be up for auction from the Netflix series The Crown.

On the website, it said that tickets were available, but not required to enter.

So we were not amused to see a sign at the entrance, saying “ticket people only could enter”

There was hardly anyone queuing, so we joined, but we got to the entrance, was told only ticketed people were allowed in. We checked the website whilst their, but no tickets were available.

Considering the queue we had when we saw the Freddie Mercury auction items to here, there was no crowd at all.

Why did not say that on the website?

    One (two) were NOT AMUSED.
