We lit up for his birthday tonight.

On the day that should have been my dad’s birthday and already 1 week since his burial, we decided to go to the opening day of the new Mission Impossible film, reckoned to be the last one.
I was glad at the weekend we watch part 1 of the film again on Netflix and there was no real recap in this film and considering it was nearly two years ago I thought that was strange.
A typical mission impossible film with a lot of action, slow areas and cheeky moment.
If it is the last film, we both thought it went out in style, but you never know with Cruise look at the end.

Today we went over to Tunbridge Wells, to a garden centre.
We had a bit of lunch, and whilst eating and talking, I said to Claire can we visit my dad’s grave, as tomorrow would have been his birthday. Claire said yes and why don’t we take something, we both looked at each other and I said that bucket you pointed at when we came in
So, we got that and a kingfisher ornament.
The grave location is in a hot spot, boy we set on the bench and wow we got hot, but my parents have become sun worshippers, you see them, and they look like they have been aboard for 6 months.
Early happy birthday day. RIP

Well, the day has finally arrived and thankfully the weather gods must have been happy with dad, as it was a lovely sunny warm day.
We got over to mum’s house at midday and just sat and talked before the funeral cars arrived.
Did my dad do some extra planning, as the driver we had, his main trade was as a mechanic.
The funeral route took us passed and stopped where they used to live.
We arrived at the cemetery and had a wonderful service provided by the vicar that my mum had known for many years.
After that, we then went around to the burial location and the coffin was lowered down and many of us threw earth and roses down.
My mum was pleased how it went.
We then went back to mum and dad’s home
Ziya and Steve in memory of my dad, did a BBQ which went down very well with all the people that came back.
It was a lovely day, and I checked again with mum, and she was very happy with our it all went.

RIP in DAD
Some more pictures of the roses in the memorial area of our garden.

After we got back from Greenwich, we had planned to plant the rose tree we got for my dad in memory.
We had a bit of change up in the rose area of the garden, and now just have two rose trees for my dad and Claire’s mum.
Claire did further planting whilst I cleared up the front drive.
