  • Week 185 – Sept 29th – Kent stay up

    Cricket
Posting on the cricinfo website during the Nottinghamshire v Middlesex match.

Today was the final day of the county championship, Kent game ended in a draw.

I was on Cricinfo website and they had put live commentary on the Nottinghamshire v Middlesex match that was still playing and would decide if Kent or Middlesex were relegated.

I sent a comment in and it was posted. I actually sent three in and they were all posted, this first time for a few years that I had comments posted.

  • Week 184 – Sept 22nd – Lords ticket ballot

This afternoon, I enter the Lords ticket ballot, for test matches next year.

I hope I have better luck then for this year. Fingers cross.

  • Week 178 – August 11th – Surrey v Kent – Part 7

    Kent
Victorious Kent team walking off after a good winning performance. Not been able to say that much this season.

    The Oval
    Final score

Enjoyable day at The Oval in good weather to watch the match.

It turned out there was a crowd of nearly 7,000 for the match, which is pretty impressive for a county one day match. Must have taken Surrey by surprise. Even more so as Kent won!

Yes it was a good batting performance by Kent, backed up by a useful bowling performance. Always good to see Kent beat Surrey.

  • Week 178 – August 11th – Surrey v Kent – Part 1

With the weather due to be good today, we went up to The Oval, for the one day match between Surrey v Kent.

I don’t think Surrey were expecting a large crowd, as when we got out of the station we could see queues of people for the ticket and getting in.

After queuing to get the tickets, it looked like we would have to queue to get in, but as we got near to the gates, I noticed another gate was about to be open, so I grabbed Claire and showed our tickets and got straight in. Always good to be alert what’s going on around you.

  • Week 177 – July 31st – What a way to go out

It was obviously written in the stars for Stuart Broad, what a way to finish your career.

I don’t believe it’s ever been done before, the last ball you face, you hit for six and then the last ball you bowl you take the wicket to win the match.

This also to draw an amazing Ashes test series.

England have been very lucky to have two of the all-time great bowlers playing together, I don’t believe either of their records will be broken due to changes in cricket.

    Thank you Broady.
