  • Week 172 – June 27th – 300 up

What a performance and we needed this in the County Championship.

Kent batter Daniel Bell-Drummond has become the third man to score 300 or more runs in one innings for Kent, after amassing 300 not out against Northamptonshire in Northampton.

The right-hander added 94 runs to his previous first-class best score, 206* against Loughborough MCCU in 2016, to reach 300* on Day Three at The County Ground Northampton, having reach a century in 178 balls, 200 in 314 balls, & his 300 in 439 deliveries, spending a total of 531 minutes batting across all three days of the LV= Insurance County Championship match so far.

The Kent Cricket Academy product joins Bill Ashdown, who recorded two triple hundreds in his first-class career (332 vs. Essex in 1934 & 305* vs. Derbyshire in 1935) & Sean Dickson, who made 318 against Northamptonshire at The County Ground, Beckenham in 2017.

  • Week 171 – June 25th – Surrey v Lancashire – Part 1

The forecast for Sunday was going to be good, so we decided to go to the Oval to see Surrey v Lancashire for the 1st day of the County Championship, so this at least shouldn’t be an early finish. LOL.

Impressive that the county championship can still have all these international players playing.

  • Week 171 – June 19th – Oval response

This was the response I got back from the Oval.

    “Hi Michael,

We have not received feedback regarding crowds around the ground this year. This is very valuable feedback for us to look into to ensure everyone in the ground feels safe.

I hope this answers your question.

    Kind regards,

    Maddie”

I did reply, saying was surprised at this, due to the increase in the ground capacity, but not in actual ground space. I just hope nothing happens at the Ashes as is a sell-out.

  • Week 170 – June 16th – Question wasn’t answered

This was the response I got from the Oval regarding my feedback.

    “Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate hearing back from our Members on their experiences with us.

I have passed this on to the relevant members of our team who will be able to look into this and see what can be done for future games regarding these issues.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with this feedback.

    Kind regards,

    Maddie”

People that know me, know that I don’t back down, so I wasn’t letting it go, especially with safety a concern

I followed up again, as my question wasn’t answered at all in a previous post. Don’t you agree?
