General life story

  • Week 89 – November 25th – DBS

Today my cricket coaching DBS was renewed for another year. Though they don’t tell you.

You’re only told if there is a problem.

I also did one via the government website for the other stuff that I do. That has been passed also

  • Week 83 – October 14th – Claire

Claire accepted a new role today at her company and will start this fully on 1st November.

Well done on her promotion, she has worked hard for it and fully deserves it.

  • Week 82 – October 8th – Hon James Brokenshire

Today I heard the sad news, the the local MP, Hon James Brokenshire passed away at just 53 due to lung cancer.

In the last couple of years, if you have followed my blog, you would know I have been in communication with him over various issues. Though I didn’t always agree with his response, he did always respond or a member of his team.

Reading various articles, he was an MP that was liked across all parties.

RIP and thank you for what you did for our area.

  • Week 80 – September 20th – Claire sponsor walk

Today was the final day of Claire sponsor walk challenge for the London Air Ambulance.

Unfortunately we didn’t make the walk goal distance due her operation during the challenge.

Just like to say thank you again to the people that have sponsored Claire.

  • Week 75 – August 16th – Meal with Jack

Today we had an afternoon meal with Claire’s godson Jack. First time we have seen him since the pandemic started last year.

He’s passed all his courses in his first year at university, so well done him.

  • Week 71 – July 19th – Week 1 of lockdown ending

Claire had surgery today, including the removal of three cyst.

Thankfully it all went smoothly and I was able to pick her up early evening.

  • Week 70 – July 12th – Week 9 of lockdown easing phase 3

I purchased a new camera for my car just over a week ago and followed the instructions for setting it up.

I plugged it into the car and it worked.

Then after stopping the car, the next tine I started the car, the camera went into a loop trying to start.

So I reset the camera and followed the instructions again and the same thing happened.

So I raised a support case with the company, after going through virtually the same process that I had already done from there email support instructions.

I checked the charger and it had a different connector compared to the car one, so I then tried using the USB cable in the in cars own charger and then camera worked,

So even though they wouldn’t say and their is nothing on the website, this model is obviously not compatible with every car.

Also makes me wonder how much longer this issue would have gone on for if I hadn’t tried stuff myself.
