So after 23 weeks we escaped our home for a few days. Claire had never worked from home before and though she had got used to it, she was working from the dining table. We had done as much as we could over the time to make it comfortable, but she needed a break.
So we went back to the Cotswolds and stay at the Wood Norton Hotel.
The journey took longer than normal, as this was one of the windiest days of the year and had to dodge many fallen trees and debris on the roads.
Claire enjoying an afternoon scone and coffee.

Before leaving for the trip, we booked the “The Fish and Anchor Inn” as we had been here before and really enjoyed it.
Obviously with Covid19, you expect there to be changes.
We arrived and that’s when the issues started, they had us one system and not the other and the manageress completely ignored that Claire had the email confirmation. We thought we better stay as we didn’t think we would get in elsewhere.
We finally got our table an hour later, even though it had been empty for 30 minutes.
The starters were OK, nothing special.
We ordered another round of drinks, now in normal times this is bad enough, but in Covid19 times you don’t expect a new glass to turn up with lipstick on, all the manageress could say was she told them off.
Claire main meal was good, but mine the potatoes were clearly from a microwave and the vegetables were hard.
The government Covid19 rules say there should be open windows and doors, but this obviously wasn’t the case as the windows were steaming up as more people came in.
Thankfully this was on the “eat out to help out” scheme, so we saved £20 and thankfully didn’t get the virus.
We will definitely not going back here.
Note to self, check trip advisor before going to places.
August was the “eat out to help out” campaign, to get the hospitality a boost after the lockdown.
We had already supported our local Indian and now went for an afternoon tea at Browns in Bluewater.
We felt very safe and Covid19 secure in the restaurant. It’s a lovely afternoon tea. More to come.

This was a very enjoyable afternoon with Claire. Cocktails and afternoon tea in a lovely secure location.
Though eating something that you know is something else is very strange. I have to say the chocolate flower pot and earth was to die for!! Yummy!!

I could hear a lot of squawking going on, so I knew parakeets were around and captured this one in the tree.
I thought that would be the best I would get.

Then for the first and so far only time, I was lucky to get pictures of them in our bird area.
Hope you like?

Now I was out of my depression again, it was time for me to stand up for the little man (us).
This was my first communication with my local MP, unfortunately there were many more to come.
Good morning James Brokenshire.
We’re in very unusual times in 2020 and I’m sure that someone like you, who has experienced a major health issue in their life, covid19 is a major issue.
I’m trying to do my bit as both sets of my parents had to shield due to health issues, with going to restaurants and wildlife parks. I’m also part of the government’s National covid19 survey and have put myself forward to help with the vaccine trial.
I send this email because I have been to Bluewater twice (I have raised it with them as well) but there appears to be no change and being honest it’s not really there fault but us. Too many people are ignoring the one way system and not social distancing and so many are not wearing face masks
I’m on holiday at the moment and went to a wildlife park, you have to book online I have no idea why as there were so many people there ignoring the government’s simple instructions.
I’ve raised an issue via the government’s covid19 website because a pub I visited this week several Covid19 instructions were not followed, I mean my wife got a glass for her drink with lipstick still on it, that’s bad enough during normal times, but covid19 times it’s unreal.
So my question is. Will you do anything as I don’t want this virus as I have a lung issue and I want life back to normal?
Regards
Michael
Resting my swollen leg and foot. I was to learn a few weeks later why I suffer so badly, so watch this space.

Bit more photography practice, as the snail checks out my garage painting.?
