Just some more learning about taking pictures with our friendly squirrel, though we have now worked out there are at least 4 of them.
Plus a sunrise.

More photography practice with our friendly squirrel.

Over the 29 years of knowing Claire and her parents, Claire and her dad are well into their photography. I’ve had several experiences of picture shows from her dad ?
Up till now, I’ve just looked and pressed, but with time on my hands, I decided to look into this too, I will share this over the coming months.

When I play cricket, I know I will get a bruise or two. Later on in the season I was to find out why I do bruise so badly. ??

Friendly XI v Petts Wood (Home)
The good weather was back and I would be playing under the first team skipper James Nash, never spoken with him or some of the other players before, as only one team was due to play this weekend.
This was a friendly against Petts Wood 1st as the league opponents Leybourne 1st had pulled out of playing.
On this warm day, Petts Wood lost the toss, so James decided to bat. It was a 36 over match.
We were given a good start by Gareth Jones and Gary Wale, as they put on 86 for the first wicket, with Garth making 50 of them with fine strokes around the pitch. He was finally caught for 69. Lee Saunders batted through the rest of innings from number 4, making 31*
I batted at number 6, making just 3 before being caught in the covers.
New Ash Green friendly XI 168-8 from 36 overs – Gareth Jones 69, Gary Wale 27, Lee Saunders 31*, Dinuka Bandara Gunasekara 7-3-16-4, Gaurav Mahajan 8-1-37-3
In reply Petts Wood got off to a steady start and were chasing well, they were reeled in by a fiery spell by Mick Summer and steady spell from Ian Mellor, but some interesting bowling changes and bowling spells allowed Petts Wood to claim victory in the last over! Enjoyable match.
Petts Wood 1st 172-7 from 35.2 overs – Matthew Thomas 38*, Ganesh Ramdath 28, Aashutosh Mishra 27, Mick Sumner 6-2-17-2, Ian Mellor 8-1-27-2 won by 3 wickets.
Some new garden lighting effects. What do you think?

Squirrel decided to visit and have some food.

So first game back at Manor Field, hopefully this Saturday’s weather will be much better. Well it couldn’t be worse 🙂
Fixture – 2nd XI v Sheppey II (Home)
Thankfully the weather was much pleasant. 🙂
Sheppey won the toss and decided to bat. Despite steady opening spells by Glen Freeman and Kieran Poole no breakthrough was made. The Sheppey openers gradually took the game away from us and it was only when 2nd and 3rd change bowlers Munhib Syed and Christopher Payne came on, that we finally took a wicket at 130-1.
They were actually our only two successful bowlers, as again poor fielding led to several drop catches and runs that shouldn’t have been scored, with 3 of the Sheppey players reaching half centuries, plus extras helping out, with 47 runs too.
Sheppey II 262-4 in 40 overs – Oliver Hill 59, Daniel Whiting 55, Alex Patt 71*, Munhib Syed 7-0-43-2, Christopher Payne 6-1-35-2
In reply only three batsman made double figures, Glen Freeman 14, Munhib Syed 13 and the best New Ash Green knock of the day Kieran Poole 40.
I batted down at number 10 and felt really comfortable, until I decided to go for a mad run and was sent back, but too late I was run out for 6 to end the match.
New Ash Green 99 in 30.1 overs – Kieran Poole 40, Tony Bond 10-3-12-5 – lost by 163 runs. – Things could only get better surely 🙂
Though I’m learning new DIY skills, I know when to hand over to the experts.
New carpet on the stairs and landing, done by Tapi carpet, fully recommend them.
