Some more camera practicing of sunrises.

Now after many years of waiting, our next door neighbour put up a fence between our drives.
There was a small gap between the drive and fence, could I do it?
This was going up a level for me in DIY !!
I decided to concreate the gap in, towards the front of the house I put Cornwall stone into the concreate, then in the middle where the widest gap was, four solar lights. Then at the top and various other places white stone. Yes white stone, my mother-in-law thought I painted each one π
What do you think?

Friendly XI v Ash (Away)
The final game of a very unusual season. For the second week I arrived late, due to reasons mentioned in other posts. This time, the match had already started and James had won the toss and we were batting.
Now I have been playing for over 40 years, even one match where snow was laying on the ground and it snowed during the game, but this is the coldest I have felt on a cricket pitch ever.
We were given an excellent start by Luke Shaw and Matt Scanlan, putting on 93 for the first wicket, the boundary was reached often with 12 fours and 4 sixes between them. After losing three wickets for 18 runs, Dean Freeman continued his form from the previous week and with the promoted Mick Sumner put on 129 for the 4th wicket, Dean was in amazing batting form, hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes in his 86.
I then went in and Mick brought up his own 50 and we even put on 22, before my batting season was summed up, with a golden duck, where the ball pitched and then just shot along the ground to be bowled!
Once time team mate David Harley son Ryan was the pick of the bowlers with 3-52
New Ash Green 273-7 from 40 overs – Luke Shaw 34, Matt Scanlan 69, Mick Sumner 55, Dean Freeman 86, Ryan Harley 8-0-52-3, Alex Piller 8-0-55-2, Carl Graham 3-0-32-2
In reply Ash Village were never in hunt, with a fiery opening spell by Felix Quantrill, backed up by some pretty sharp fielding which I have to say I led the way.
Ryan completed a fine game with 32, and then Graeme Moir with the returning injured Kieran Clements to hold out for a draw, it was a shame that a joke piece of fielding, happened more than once, which spoil the game for me.
Ted Quantrill completed a fine spell picking up 3 wickets to end the season in style
Ash Village 140-8 from 40 overs – Graeme Moir 40*, Ryan Harley 32, Felix Quantrill 6-3-9-3, Edward Quantrill 8-1-37-3 – match drawn.
After the match, Rob Bristow had turned up, which was impressive in this cold weather and we had a good chat, before we went off to see John Harley grave.

Around 1pm Claire called and said she was being kept in, could I take some stuff up. So I packed a bag and got to the hospital again.
Put a face mask on and walked in with my hospital crutch. At reception I was told to wait and someone would come down to collect the bag from me.
20 minutes later I was still standing there, I asked the receptionist to call up again, I could see she was getting no answer. I thought sod this. Now this is Covid19 and shouldn’t be able to go anywhere in the hospital.
About 10 minutes later, Claire was shocked to see me standing in front of her, not once was I stopped or questioned. I said to her, don’t ask, here is your bag.
On Friday, mid-morning I get a call can you bring up my insulin, I said pardon, youβre in a hospital, yes but they don’t have the insulin. Unbelievable.
This time, I just put on my mask and took my hospital crutch again and just walked straight in and all the way to Claire’s bed, again not asked who I was and Claire bed was at the far end of the ward too.
I’ll be honest, this has been going on for a few years now, we thought we had got it resolved, when our builder Terry had blocked the hole, but in the last 18 months, every so often we would hear noise again in the roof.
When looking closer, realised that the guttering and the fascia had dropped. Though my DIY skills have come on leaps and bounds, this was out of my league. We arranged to get this fixed after seeing a local builder working.
Watch this space.

23rd September Wednesday night, Claire went to bed but said she felt strange. Neither of us thought much of it.
Next day, I was up at some stupid o’clock, I heard Claire alarm go off, went upstairs and got washed and ready for the day. Claire said her head felt funny and body was feeling strange. She got washed and dressed and came down, she did her blood and it was 23 (this is very high). Usually from pasted experience, this means she isn’t well, but she didn’t know what.
She had her breakfast, but still wasn’t feeling great and did her blood again and now showing 25, I said you need to ring 111 for advice. For around the next 30 minutes, I kept saying she needed to ring 111 as she just didn’t feel right.
Finally she gave in and rang, after going through various questions, the call taker put her through to a consultant. Further questions were asked and they said are you alone or with someone, Claire I have my husband, please get him to take you to hospital.
So I drove Claire to a hospital, again because of Covid19, I wasn’t allowed in. Within in an hour (that is pretty fast in England) she was in a bed and waiting to see a consultant.
I went home and waited.
My battle continued regarding Bluewater and Covid19.Β Again I will only allow people that register to see this. So come on register and sign up people. ?
We decided in the sales and with some vouchers that we would treat ourselves to a American fridge/freezer.
We ordered online and could only arrange for one of the old devices to be taken away.
On delivery day, I ask if they could put the other one at the top of the drive, to see if an iron monger would take it away.
On leaving, we gave them a tip, they said thank you and would take the other device as well, I asked it wouldn’t cause an issue, they replied no as no one checks anything ??

Visited Knole Park again for lockdown escape and got some pictures of deer.
On the way back to the car, I bumped into a former manager of mine from Nat West, Terry Hallett and his wife, they hadn’t changed.
I asked Mark Scholfield to guess who I saw today and he got it right first time
