Month: January 2023

  • Week 151 – January 31st – Car insurance

So I updated my car insurance details for the new car, always amazes me how much more this makes the car insurance. Extra £160 pound I had to pay.

Be interesting to see what the renewal will be in December.

  • Week 151 – January 31st – Six month follow up

Today I had my six months follow up with the nurse.

My blood pressure was still high, this was the best of 3 reading 149/94. The nurse said I should have some blood tests done to see why it was still high.

I was hoping also to find out about diabetics, but she said this would have to be done via the blood test work.

  • Week 151 – January 30th – Last time

So I took the old car back to the dealership this morning.

    This was the final mileage.

Sort of completes a full circle on the blog, as a new car was the first posting.

  • Week 150 – January 27th – Not expecting this

Today I received a phone call that I wasn’t expecting.

Last year I ordered a new car, as there was a delay in new cars because of COVID 19 and chips.

When I ordered it, was told between March and June of this year, which was fine as it would be a 23 registration.

The call today, said that the car was here and because it had come in January, it would be a 72 registration.

We even went to KIA to discuss this, but cutting the long story short, it was because it had arrived in January and couldn’t be kept over till March for the new registration number plate.

Normally you are happy if something comes in early, but in this instance you’re not.

We did get over £1,000 worth of stuff due to the inconvenience.

Picking the new car up on Monday.

  • Week 150 – January 25th – Looking up

My financial advisor, after I mentioned that for the 1st time since last August that the funds were in plus are hopeful that this year will be much better, as long as inflation continues to slow and interest rate rises.

Plus hopefully nothing goes untoward in the Ukraine war or the relationship between America and China.

    Keep your fingers cross please.

  • Week 149 – January 22nd – Knole Park – Part 3

    Last pictures from our walk.

Good to be out in the fresh air, but it’s far too warm and dry for this time of year.

Hope that won’t cause problem’s later in the year.

  • Week 149 – January 22nd – Oviva course completed

Today I completed the Oviva course which was to help prevent me becoming diabetic.

Overall the app was very useful, with the learning information that it provided and also keeping track of what I was eating, my weight and exercise.

You are also provided with a coach to help you, but as mentioned in a previous post, that wasn’t much help.

It appeared my coach either left or moved to a different department as I had no contact for a long time and then when someone took over, they thought I was on a different course and disappeared.

Doesn’t help, when there is a chat option on the app, but the coach gets no notification if you message them.
