Month: July 2023

  • Week 173 – July 8th – Gas coming down

We got an email from British Gas, that thankfully we will be lowering our monthly payment from £135.30 per month to £101.58.

As you can see though, it’s still over £100, which is nearly 2/3 more then what we were paying at the start of the year.

At least it’s going in the right direction.

  • Week 173 – July 7th – Richmond Park

We got back to Richmond Park and what a difference to last time.

    It was 30 C (86F).

The park is huge, we must have walked just a fraction of it.

A couple of pictures from the trip.

    Richmond Park
I was told by a fishing expert, that this a bream. Good to see such clean water.

    Richmond Park
Not a cloud in the sky, complete opposite to last time we visited here.

  • Week 173 – July 6th – Ticket office closures

I sent this email in regarding closing of ticket offices at railway stations.

I understand the staff will be kept on, but I’m sure over time this will change.

I can understand them closing, but we need people there to help regarding tickets, not every trip is straight forward and often the straight forward one aren’t either.

    Good morning.

This is regarding all stations in the region.

The main thing we need is that there are guarantees of staff to man all these stations to help everyone regarding the tickets and access, plus any other question or issues that may occur on day to day running of the station.

Technology goes wrong as we all know, so we need staff there to help us with getting from A to B and when it’s working too for various reasons (I’m not going to list them), such as people can be coloured blind and can’t understand the ticket machine or even read it.

As we get older, we prefer to interact with people that understand the station and can provide answers.

Stations need staff to help and for safety too of the passengers.

    Don’t lose the STAFF.”

    Let’s see what happens.

  • Week 173 – July 4th – Leeds new manager

Leeds United have appointed former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke as their manager on a four-year deal.

The 46-year-old German spent four years with the Canaries and twice led them to promotion to the Premier League.

Farke spent last season with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach but was sacked after they finished 10th.

Well I hope he can lead us straight back, as we should be in the premiership.

  • Week 173 – July 4th – Bird crazy

Login required to see this posting of the noise.

  • Week 172 – July 2nd – Back below 18 again

Looks like I’m going to be on a roller coaster ride with my weight, as I manage to get it below 18 Sone again.

    17st 13lbs 2oz.

Hope I can keep it below for longer this time.

  • Week 172 – July 2nd – Indiana Jones

First time at the cinema for a while to see the new Indiana Jones film.

It was an enjoyable film and good to see some of the previous characters back for this final film in the series.

Not sure about the time travel section though.
