This evening over WhatsApp video call, I had my DBS verification call. All went well, now I just waiting for all the checks to be completed.
So I completed the painting of the main wall in the front room – this is the before – https://mjmaddog.co.uk/?p=1011
What do you think of how it looks now?

Six years ago today, my good friend John Harley passed away.
I met him in the 80’s when he joined Chelsfield Exiles cricket club. He was our Monty (Panesar), couldn’t field or bat, but would bowl and bowl and bowl. Ask him how many wickets he took, he could real that off with ease.
He was diagnosed with cancer in April 2014 and his innings was to end 19th November 2014 (53 years old)
He managed to play virtually the whole summer and John Harley, being John Harley, with his very last ball took a wicket!!!!
In his last few years he became a TV and film extra and was well liked in that too.

Since lockdown started, I have been doing a cricket project, just to keep my mind alert, I was amazed over doing this, the number of errors / mistakes on the Cricinfo website. This was an email I sent to their lead statistics administrator, waiting on feedback.
Hello S Rajesh
Lovely to hear from you. As Ken said in his last email. I’m taking this back over again due to his work commitments.
Well I did raise a few via the feedback, when I started my 2000 stats project and have no record of them apart from some URL links of the matches.
I do have a word document of later one’s, but I’ve been discussing with various people and considering the amount of working you’ve been doing with Ken, they said why don’t you ask if you could become a contractor working for cricinfo.
So I’m asking that S Rajesh?
I’ll attach a part of the word document, so you can see what I have found once I started recording them.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Michael
With the help of the Kent cricket administrator, I now had access to the ECB DBS website to start the next step for my cricket coaching.
Morning Michael,
Thank you for sending over your details. I have now initiated a DBS application for you.
You should receive an email shortly with the next steps to follow.
Today we had our old arm chairs collected after they had been purchased on Ebay.
We noticed how dull the main wall looked plus it was marked, so we decided to brighten it up, look out for a posting later in the week to see the change.

So after chatting with Mark Scholfield during the week, I decided with his help to start a blog, as I didn’t want use any of the big commercial websites.
So on Saturday 14th November @ 16:36 https://mjmaddog.co.uk was born and created.
I have to say a BIG thank you to Mark for his help and time, especially over this weekend.
Hopefully I haven’t disturbed him too much since?
During the de cluttering, I found my cricket Wisden collection, this is one of their special editions from 1987
