Today I played at Flimwell and for the 1st time in years, I played with Nick Coffin. It was good to see him, and he scored 27*. I didn’t bat today.
Due to a fair at our home ground, this was a home fixture for us at an away ground.
It was a lovely warm day and another excellent batting display by our skipper Chris, but we were struggling in the field, especially when we went down to 9 players and Flimwell were able to chase the target down.
Speldhurst 185-5 off 40 Overs (Chris Pannell 60, Ricky Singh 9-0-35-3) lost to Flimwell 186-3 off 33.2 Overs (Donovan Kennedy 67*, Martin Rigby 62*) by 7 wickets.
In July 2020, we had our stairs carpet lay, the carpet was meant to be hard waring because of the usage, but in the last year we noticed these threading issues on parts of the carpet, that wasn’t being trodden on.
I decided to raise a query with TAPI a few days ago; the company who we purchased the carpet from.
I must admit, I have been impressed with their response, as this morning they said they would replace the carpet and fit free of charge.
Always good to ask questions of companies as I have found out this year.
No idea why this has happened to the carpet.and on another stair.
Earlier in the week, I had received a letter from the Halifax building society, that If I didn’t visit a branch before September, the account would be closed.
So, I went to a branch in Eltham and when I got to a cashier, I was pleasantly surprised that the account had £950 in.
I had the account closed and money transferred.
So always make sure you read your post, that’s when you get some delivered.
I then did something for the 1st time in my life and went into a bookie and placed two bets.
This morning, I was awake in the early hours as my throat was burning and when I swallowed made my earache even more painful.
I don’t usually like having to call the medical world, but this was hurting me too much, so I rang 111 and this is when it became a farce, they can only deal with one symptom, even though the pain was the same, I even went to a supervisor and I felt this was a farce, but got the same answer.
In the end I gave in, and they put through my case. I had a doctor call me at 4am and said it sounds like I have a throat infection and that I could have a 9am appointment with my surgery this morning.
09:30am came and still no call, so I rang the surgery, and once I got through, was told that there is no 9am call, but that I was on a list for a call from a doctor.
After the farce with 111, I had posted a post on the Nextdoor website, most responses were saying to go to the pharmacy.
It got to 11am and I hardly had any voice left, so call the surgery again, I couldn’t believe it when I was told the doctor doing the list had been called out on a emergency home visit.
I then decided to go to the pharmacy and saw the pharmacist who was brilliant and within less than five minutes, she said I had a throat infection and likely chest infection, so prescribed me antibiotics.
I wished I had gone there first thing this morning.
So wished i had gone to the pharmacy earlier. Medicine I was put on.
