  • Week 305 – January 8th – Health Insight survey

On this month survey, I could finally say that I have an appointment regarding my SVT, though still not great communication regarding the issue.

  • Week 305 – January 5th – Collarbone appointment

I was quite surprised to get this appointment so soon, as I only contact the NHS last week.

After seeing the consultant twice, once before the X-Ray, and then after, he was happy that fracture was healing OK, though he did say that it may never fully heal.

He would only be concerned if I was still in pain in September, a year after the injury happened. They said it was most likely the muscle just rebuilding itself back.

Wasn’t expecting the snow, thankfully no impact on the journey.

  • Week 304 – January 2nd – Not the way I wanted to start the new year

When I woke up this morning, my throat was burning and it was very sore. Identical to back in June 2025.

From that experience, I went to our pharmacy, I knew the regular chemist was off, so saw there stand in.

Once again, my blog came to my recuse and knowledge of the world and cricket, as it took quite a while to convince this person to give me the same antibiotics that I had last year.

In the end they prescribed me the phenoxymethylpenicillin potassium antibiotics.

  • Week 304 – January 1st – New Year Day

As it was dry first day of the year and we wanted to get outside, we went to Greenwich Park and had a walk around the park and Greenwich and of course a Costa coffee.

    London
1st day of 2026 and in London, so a picture of The Shard.

Start how we mean to go on.

  • Week 304 – December 31st – Financial a good year

I wished my financial advisor and market expert a good new year and thanked for their help during 2025.

This was part of the response I received back.

2025 was certainly a good year for equity investing as we saw inflation numbers falling back, allowing interest rates to be cut, while all the while the (US) economy and corporate earnings trundled on. The AI theme drove the likes of Nvidia (the chip maker of choice of AI learning) up a further 40% but even this wonder stock of the moment could not keep pace with the shiny yellow metal, GOLD up 64%!

The crystal ball gazers have been hard at work, trying to predict what will happen in 2026, and most have concluded that the right pieces are in place for another positive year for equities, even with the slightly stretched valuations we have. These are interesting times we live in, and I am sure the path upward will not be straight, with bumps occurring along the way.

If at any time you would like to discuss markets, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

I wish you a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2026.”

Keep my fingers cross and hope for another good year.

  • Week 304 – December 29th – HM Land Registry’s Property Alert service

I received an email this afternoon to confirm everything was OK regarding our property and nothing was done illegally against the address.

As mentioned in previous blog postings, I would recommend registering for this government service for peace of mind, as I have read many articles where people have used addresses without the owners knowing.

  • Week 304 – December 29th – Physical Therapy follow up

This afternoon, I had a follow up regarding the right collarbone that I fractured back in September.

The physiotherapist was happy with the movement of the right arm and shoulder.

They agreed with me, that they didn’t think I should be in as much pain, when just sitting down and said that I should try to see the consultant and have another X-Ray to see how everything was going.

  • Week 303 – December 25th – Christmas Day

Christmas Day was different this year. First time I haven’t been with Claire, as she went down to her dads, whilst I stay at home, until one of my sisters came and picked me up, so that I spent it with my sisters and mum.

After the lovely Christmas dinner, we drove over to the cemetery and went down to my dad’s grave.

Our plant was still there, and my sisters lay one as well.

We gave a pray and then went home.

    Dad
Left by my mum on Christmas Day.

    RIP Dad.

  • Week 302 – December 21st – Remembering

This morning we went up to my dad’s grave to remember him and put this plant by the grave.

Will be the first Christmas without dad.

    Dad
A plant in remembrance for Dad.

    RIP
