Some more pictures from the match.

Week 166 – May 20th – Surrey v Kent – Part 1
As the weather was decent today, we went to the Kia Oval for the 3rd day’s play of the county championship match between Surrey and Kent.
Hopefully Kent can put up a fight in the second innings, with their England men Crawley and Billings at the wicket.
Let’s see.

Training for the wicketkeeper, who is he?
Alex Stewart helping with the training of Ben Foakes. Good to see Alec Stewart back after some family issues earlier in the year.

Week 166 – May 17th – Recycling centres
As seems to be the norm these days, you have to follow up if you want feedback.
As some of you may have seen from an earlier post, they were looking to restrict how often you could go to the recycling centres in the borough, why?
There was a council meeting last month, but I heard nothing back, so I followed up at the start of the month and nothing again, so I chased again today and this was the response.
“Hi Mr James,
There is no update yet from the Cabinet member on the recommendations made by the Scrutiny committee on the proposed changes. Once I have more information changes I will let you know. Therefore, no changes have been implemented and the current rules have not changed.
Kind regards,
Asya”
Well at least its good news, but so frustrating you have to keep following up to get feedback.

Week 165 – May 14th – New plants
As from the previous post, the weather was decent today, so we went to the garden centre and got some more new plants.
New lavender plants and some of the older plants starting to bloom.

New lavender plants potted today.
This old faithful is still blooming after several years. -
Week 165 – May 14th – First time this year
Can you believe it, were nearly 5 ½ months into the year and today was the first time we removed the bench covers and set outside.
Been saying to a few people recently, we were very lucky in the first Covid 19 lockdown, as the weather was really good then.
I think there would have been more people not following the rules and more issues, if the weather was like this year.

Week 165 – May 12th – Richmond Park
We took a drive out to Richmond Park today, never been before, but as we got closer to the park, the weather got more and more miserable and by the time we arrived it was pouring down.
Were try again, hopefully the weather will be better next time.

Week 165 – May 10th – Pot of gold
Unfortunately it did rain more whilst we were at Hastings and on the journey home.
In the evening, we were able to capture this rainbow from our back garden.

Rainbow time.
Pretty impressive, don’t you think ?
