Week 279 – July 12th – Horton Kirby v Speldhurst
Another warm summer afternoon and thankfully Chris won the toss, and we batted, but apart from the skipper solid knock of 68, no one else reached double fingers, until number 10 Sam Poytner (21*) and my good self (12), put on 33 for the last wicket.
In reply we never really troubled Horton Kirby despite a good spell from Rakesh Krishnakumar 2-36 from his 9 overs and brilliant run out by Ted Bell we lost by 7 wickets.
Speldhurst 136 of 38 Overs (Chris Pannell 68) lost to Horton Kirby 140-3 of 27 Overs (Bob Graham 30*, Ben Holman 30*) by 7 wickets.

Week 279 – July 9th – New glasses for cricket
This morning, I picked up my new glasses for cricket, when I put them on, they were at an angle, at first, I thought it was me, but when I tried to correct this, they still stayed at an angle.
The optician looked at them and took them off and looked at them and then gave them back to me, but again they were on at an angle.
She took them from me and went into the back office.
A little while later she came back out and this time they sat perfectly on me.
Though she wasn’t happy with the frame, she said I could take them with me but would order another frame for them.
Afterwards I drove up and saw mum, as it was a lovely day she was sitting outside getting the sun rays in. Considering the loss of dad, she was doing OK.

Week 279 – July 8th – Women’s World t20 cup advert
This afternoon I received an email from the ECB asking if I would like to appear in the advert for the Women’s T20 World cup, which is being held in England next year.
I thought why not as it was being shot in London and I’m guessing at Lords.
So, I filled out the form and let’s see what happens.

Week 279 – July 7th – Formula 1
So, after the wonderful news, see previous blog posts, we had already decided to go to the cinema to see the film Formula 1.
Let’s just say it was much better than we both thought it would be, it obviously helped that there had been a lot of input from the current formula 1 stars and management.
You also saw a lot of the current drivers and managers in the film.
If you’re a formula 1 fan, this is a must see.
