  • Week 191 – Nov 9th – Walt Disney 100 year exhibition – Part 1

Claire had booked us to see the Walt Disney 100 year exhibition at the Excel centre in Canary Wharf.

The journey went without much trouble and the car park which we had already paid for, was massive but pretty empty.

Now please join us on the journey from the car park to the event and beyond in the magical world of Walt Disney.

  • Week 191 – Nov 8th – Kia service

This morning I took the Kia Sportage for its first service.

    Everything went all OK.

I like that they send you a video and explain everything about the service.

  • Week 191 – Nov 6th – Raising the game

This afternoon, I filled out a survey in regards how we move forward to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in cricket.

This is so important after all the scandal around the sport this year.

I have to admit, I miss the days from Chelsfield Exiles, as with any club, there were always issues, but the group that played on a Saturday and afterwards were a wonderful bunch of people and fun to be with on and off the field.

  • Week 190 – Nov 3rd – Leicester City v Leeds United

Leicester City 0 Leeds United 1 HT 0-0

    Rutter (58)

This was a massive win on Friday night over the championship leader, great way to start the weekend!!

Leeds United ended Leicester City’s nine-game winning run in the Championship with an impressive victory at the King Power Stadium.

Joel Piroe went close in the opening moments for Leeds while Leicester’s Abdul Fatawu hit the bar 11 minutes before half-time in a tight first half.

Leeds were the better side after the break and took a deserved lead when Georginio Rutter converted from close range after Sam Byram’s header from a corner was palmed away by Mads Hermansen.

Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho had a late effort blocked for the Foxes before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s stoppage-time header forced a superb first save from Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Leeds, who came down from the Premier League with the Foxes last season, cut the gap between the two relegated sides to 11 points and consolidated third place in the table.

Hopefully we can continue the form and results now to push for one of the two automatic promotion spots.

  • Week 190 – Oct 31st – Ticket offices to be saved

In a blog posting earlier in the year, I mentioned that I had sent an email on why the ticket offices should be saved at railway stations.

I just read that they will for the time being, which is great news.

Feels good to have an impact on something, well done to everyone else that sent emails into.

  • Week 189 – Oct 28th – Greenwich

Another visit up to Greenwich as the day was reasonable.

  • Week 189 – Oct 25th – Safe guarding

I had to login into the ECB safe guarding portal, so that my ECB safe guarding can be checked and allow be to be cleared to continue to work with children.

Hopefully this will come back with no issues.

  • Week 188 – Oct 22nd – Rose plants

Claire added some little ornaments to the rose tree and plants in memory of her mum.

I can’t believe how often the rose tree as budded since we got it in April.

  • Week 188 – Oct 22nd – West Malling Farmers Market

As the weather was reasonable today, we decided to go to the farmers market at West Malling.

The journey was going smoothly until we reached a village and cars were everywhere. Every so often a group of cars would go pass and we would inch forward.

Finally we found out the reason, there was some vintage event happening in this village and a steam engine was rolling into place.

I think they should have put warnings up there would be a delays.

Had a nice walk around the market and got some fig jam and bread.

  • Week 188 – Oct 21st – Covid 19 testing

I received a letter today asking if I would like to help with Covid 19 testing during the winter.

I thought why not, at least I will be able to test for free.
