  • Week 151 – January 31st – Six month follow up

Today I had my six months follow up with the nurse.

My blood pressure was still high, this was the best of 3 reading 149/94. The nurse said I should have some blood tests done to see why it was still high.

I was hoping also to find out about diabetics, but she said this would have to be done via the blood test work.

  • Week 149 – January 22nd – Oviva course completed

Today I completed the Oviva course which was to help prevent me becoming diabetic.

Overall the app was very useful, with the learning information that it provided and also keeping track of what I was eating, my weight and exercise.

You are also provided with a coach to help you, but as mentioned in a previous post, that wasn’t much help.

It appeared my coach either left or moved to a different department as I had no contact for a long time and then when someone took over, they thought I was on a different course and disappeared.

Doesn’t help, when there is a chat option on the app, but the coach gets no notification if you message them.

  • Week 143 – December 7th – Oviva

This is the app that I have been using to help with hopefully preventing becoming diabetic type 2.

On the 20th October, I got this message from my coach –

    “Hi Michael,

    That’s really great to hear!

It’s good that you have a goal weight in mind. You are doing really well and the graph shows that you are steadily losing weight. Also, you are only at the start of the programme.

I will be messaging you 3 times next week. After that, it will just be 1 message per a week on alternate weeks.

    You too and best wishes,

    Alice”

But to this day, I hadn’t heard anything, so yesterday, I emailed there support and today I had a phone call from her colleague, apologising and that the above message was incorrect and I wasn’t to hear from my coach till January.

I have to admit, the phone call was pretty pointless and from a bit of communication since from Alice, it turns out they don’t get notified if I send a chat message on the app, which seems a useless chat system, don’t you agree?

  • Week 138 – November 4th – Flu jab

This evening, both myself and Claire had our flu jab. So were all jabbed up for the winter.

    Stay safe and healthy people.

  • Week 136 – October 23rd – Covid19 autumn booster

This morning I had my Covid19 autumn booster. It was very well organised and I had the Pfizer jab again.

So I’ve now had 2 Astra Zeneca jabs and 2 Pfizer jabs.

Just the heavy arm and feeling nausea this time for a few hours.

    Stay safe out there.

  • Week 135 – October 14th – Covid19 Booster

Today I received a text message from the NHS that allowed me to book my Covid19 booster jab.

All done on online and will be having the booster at the same location as the other 3 jabs.

  • Week 132 – September 25th – Covid19 booster

Claire had her autumn Covid19 booster jab today.

Had the sore arm and felt cold for a couple of day, but otherwise all good.

  • Week 124 – July 31st – Covid19 survey

We decided to stop being part of the covid19 survey, due to the way it was now being done.

Been enjoyable doing it, to help fight the virus, which will be around for ever.

Will take the 4th vaccine jab in the autumn.

    Stay safe everyone.

  • Week 112 – May 8th – Pre diabetic

After my health check the other week, I was diagnosed border line being diabetic type 2, so after speaking with the nurse, she put be forward to be part of a diabetic course to see if I can prevent this happening.

    I heard from them today.

A major part is down to my weight, which I have been working on already.

The major problem, if you have seen previous blog posts is I like food, especially potatoes which is a bad carbohydrate.

This will be a tough battle, but I have seen what Claire has to go through and I don’t want that.
