Month: July 2022

  • Week 123 – July 23rd – Northeast

Sam Northeast hit 410* for Glamorgan, third highest score in the County Championship and highest score this century anywhere.  Glamorgan actually managed to win the match today.

On this date 5 years ago I watched England women win the World Cup at Lords.  One of the best days ever. The atmosphere was unbelievable. ?

  • Week 123 – July 19th – Another record

On this record hot day, another record was broken.

Queen Greatest hits has now sold over 7 million copies. 1st album to do that in the UK.

They were the best live band ever!!!

  • Week 123 – July 19th – The heat is on

Well today became the hottest day known in the UK, with the record first broken at 11:51 and kept being broken throughout the day.

In all 39 weather sites locations broke the previous record set in 2019, with the final highest temperature being recorded at 40.3C, 104F

    Where I live, we hit 38.3C, 101F.

Fires were close by in Dartford, but thankfully no one lost their lives, thanks to the Fire Brigade.

Hopefully it will be awhile before we hit those temperatures again.

The grass is taking a beating from the hot weather, but at least were having a summer this year.
  • Week 122 – July 17th – Bee time

I was sitting in the garden and I kept missing capturing a bumble bee in the flower.

Finally I captured it, what do you think?

  • Week 121 – July 8th – London

Went up to London today to meet my financial advisor for the first time. Even though this year has not been a good year, due the war in Ukraine and the inflation around the world, were doing OK.

Just hope there will be a pick up soon.

  • Week 121 – July 7th – Biggin Hill

We popped over to the café at Biggin Hill.  Was busy again on the run way, saw the spitfire land again.

Then took Claire to the hospital for her appointment and it was confirmed that she had a frozen shoulder. I know how that feels, has I had one a few years ago.

  • Week 121 – July 6th – Yalding

We met up with Claire godson today and had a lunch time meal in Yalding by the river. Very enjoyable time.
