  • Week 149 – January 21st – Ashes to Glass – Part 1

Today we went back over to Essex to pick up the pendant that Claire had made, that contained some ashes of her mum.

    Some pictures of the pendent.

Would definitely recommend this company. if you needed have something like this done.

  • Week 149 – January 20th – End of tax year

I received an email with a brochure from my financial advisor and it was mentioning about the end of tax year (Early April). So I thought I better check in.

    Feedback from him.

“Otherwise, I’m glad that a very difficult year for investment returns is over and things have bounced back somewhat recently. Let’s hope that continues. Things look pretty gloomy for the UK (and Europe) right now, but starting to look more positive elsewhere (US and Far East in particular). Your portfolio is well diversified globally by Brewin so I’m feeling good about 2023 right now.”

I hope this is true, as last year was a rough ride.

  • Week 149 – January 20th – Fox time

This morning I was out cleaning the driveway from all the leaves and branches that have fallen from the willow tree. By far the worse year for this, especially the amount of branches that have fallen of, I’m sure this is down to the hot weather we had in the summer.

Then as if I wasn’t there, this fox just walked along the pavement and then down the next door neighbour drive. A couple of picture of the fox.

Doesn’t care that people are around.
  • Week 149 – January 18th – NHS survey

This afternoon I got an email, as I had registered to help with NHS research.

It was do a survey, I just thought it was strange as it was about weight, but when you visit the dentist.

Not too sure how the two go in hand, but I completed the survey.

  • Week 149 – January 18th – Is this the thief?

Was this the squirrel that took the coconut?

Captured the squirrel as I opened the front door.

  • Week 148 – January 15th – Dover

We took a trip to Dover Top to look out on the English Channel and Dover Port.

Couple of pictures from the visit.

  • Week 148 – January 14th – Claire’s mum

This weekend we spent time with Claire’s dad to sort out her mums stuff. They didn’t realise how many tops she had.

So many she had, quite a few still had their labels on.

We took some stuff to the local charity shops, but apart from one, they just wanted one bag of stuff.

So all done now, not the nicest thing to do, but it has to be done.

  • Week 148 – January 11th – Thief

Login required to see this thief

  • Week 148 – January 10th – Missed out again

This afternoon I got an email from the KIA Oval that I had missed out on getting tickets for the Ashes match there.

The email said there had been over 1.1 million ticket requests. Who says test cricket is dying.

Looks like I’ll just be watching the highlights.
