  • Week 248 – December 14th – Ivy restaurant part 1

As I’m a member of the Ivy restaurant, I have collected rewards, but you lose them after a year, so we went up for a Christmas lunch and had a very enjoyable time, with good food, drink and service.

  • Week 248 – December 12th – NHS Insight Survey

I did my monthly NHS Insight Survey regarding mainly GP surgery and pharmacy usage.

From this feedback, it looks like people are happy with the service they are getting.

“An estimated 95.7% of adults who tried to contact their GP practice in the last 28 days were successful; the percentage making contact on the same day has shown a small, consistent increase to 78.5% in Wave 4 (15 October to 6 November 2024) from 76.8% in Wave 1 (23 July to 15 August 2024).

Of those who tried to contact their GP practice in the last 28 days, 73.8% perceived their overall experience as either “Very good” or “Good”; this has also increased consistently over the first four waves, from 67.4% in Wave 1.

Of those given an appointment or a call-back from a GP or healthcare professional in the last 28 days, 80.8% were either given a face-to-face appointment or asked if they wanted one.

Of those who had a face-to-face appointment in the last 28 days, 35.1% have a preferred healthcare professional; of this group 61.0% were able to see their preferred professional.

Over half of adults (52.8%) reported having an NHS dentist; of those who attended an NHS dental appointment in the last 28 days, 89.6% were “Very satisfied” or “Satisfied” with the care they received.

94.1% of adults who did not have a dentist and who had tried to make an NHS dental appointment in the last 28 days, reported they were unsuccessful in making an appointment.

The majority of adults (88.9%) who had used an NHS pharmacy service in the last 28 days were “Very satisfied” or “Satisfied” with the most recent service they received; the percentage reporting a problem getting an NHS prescription has shown a consistent decrease to 14.4% in Wave 4 from 20.1% in Wave 1.”

  • Week 248 – December 10th – Leeds United v Middlesbrough

    Leeds United 3 – Middlesbrough 1 – HT 1-0

    W. Gnonto (14′)  M. Wöber (54′ og)

    D. James (74′)

    B. Aaronson (90’+2)

    Assists

    J. Piroe (74′)

    A. Tanaka (90’+2)

    Venue: Elland Road Attendance: 36,422

Late goals from Dan James and Brenden Aaronson sent Leeds United top of the Championship with victory over Middlesbrough in a fascinating encounter.

Wales’s winger James fired past Seny Dieng in the 74th minute before Aaronson added a third in injury time to move the Whites two points clear of Sheffield United, who are away to Millwall on Wednesday.

It was an eighth straight win at Elland Road for Daniel Farke’s side as they strengthened their bid for automatic promotion back to the Premier League after two seasons away.

Willy Gnonto put the hosts in front early in a first half in which they dominated, only for Max Wober to head into his own net nine minutes after the break.

Ben Doak had a great chance to put Boro ahead before Leeds late onslaught, as the Teesside club slipped one place to sixth.

Leeds second attempt at promotion back to the top tier has been founded on rock-solid form at home with 25 points out of a possible 30 this season.

The home form has really been strong after that defeat against Burnley in September, we have to keep this going and pick up points away from home to get us back to the premiership.

    Marching On Together.

League position 1st after 20 games – After 20 games last season, Leeds were 3rd.

  • Week 248 – December 9th – New Kent coach

This afternoon, Kent announced their new cricket coach to be Adam Hollioake.

This is a good choice going by his playing career, just hope people don’t go on that he played for Surrey, as he should help bring good players to the county.

Hopefully he can turn the club fortune around and sort out why we get so many injuries, especially to our bowlers.

    Good luck Adam.
