Claire went into hospital this week as her Endometriosis had flared up again. Of course because of Covid19, I wasn’t allowed to be with her, it felt a bloody long day, as I know she takes a while to come around from the operation. Thankfully she was back in the day, even though they had messed up on several front, which isn’t great when you’re a diabetic.

Little did we know, a more major hospital visit was just around the corner? ?

  • Week 26 – August 24th 2020 – Week 23 of lockdown

Of course it’s the summer bank holiday weekend, so it’s bound to rain!!

Sure enough it had rained too much for the game v Mote 4th XI to take place.

Covid19 only been around this year to muck our lives up, the weather has always been to muck our lives up!!

  • Week 26 – August 24th 2020 – Week 23 of lockdown

This was an email I sent to the Cotswold wildlife park that I had visited this week

    Good morning.

Have you been checking trip advisor?

I visited your park earlier in the week. I have to say what’s the point of your online booking system, when you’re letting in too many people?

I feel for the staff as shouting out social distancing with just voice no one going to hear.

Yes you raise it on a tannoy message too, but these are humans, your better talking to your lovely animals. Who to me seem to be more covid19 concerned then who’s ever controlling the website?

It’s a shame because you do have a lovely park.

    Regards

    Michael

  • Week 26 – August 24th 2020 – Week 23 of lockdown

This place was found on Trip advisor. Inn & Brasserie at Childswickham.

We arrived a little bit early, but was greeted by a very helpful young lady who took our details. Our table wasn’t ready, so we went and sat outside. Then they told us another table was available.

The table was cleaned and the place is definitely Covid19 secure, see later.

Claire had the smoked salmon, crayfish cocktail which came up in a large bowl, which she really enjoyed. I had the basil tomato soup. Which was great with lovely warm bread.

For the main, Claire had, twice cooked belly port, which she fell in love with, just like she did with me ?

I had the sausage and mash which was wonderful too.

We both had the cheese board which was a delight for our desert.

The staff have made the place Covid19 secure with well space tables, open windows and doors. Cleaning the tables after each customer had left.

This was in a different league after the previous night’s experience!!

We both fully recommend this place and wish it was closer.

Before leaving for the trip, we booked the “The Fish and Anchor Inn” as we had been here before and really enjoyed it.

Obviously with Covid19, you expect there to be changes.

We arrived and that’s when the issues started, they had us one system and not the other and the manageress completely ignored that Claire had the email confirmation. We thought we better stay as we didn’t think we would get in elsewhere.

We finally got our table an hour later, even though it had been empty for 30 minutes.

The starters were OK, nothing special.

We ordered another round of drinks, now in normal times this is bad enough, but in Covid19 times you don’t expect a new glass to turn up with lipstick on, all the manageress could say was she told them off.

Claire main meal was good, but mine the potatoes were clearly from a microwave and the vegetables were hard.

The government Covid19 rules say there should be open windows and doors, but this obviously wasn’t the case as the windows were steaming up as more people came in.

Thankfully this was on the “eat out to help out” scheme, so we saved £20 and thankfully didn’t get the virus.

We will definitely not going back here.

Note to self, check trip advisor before going to places.

  • Week 26 – August 24th 2020 – Week 23 of lockdown

Now I was out of my depression again, it was time for me to stand up for the little man (us).

This was my first communication with my local MP, unfortunately there were many more to come.

    Good morning James Brokenshire.

We’re in very unusual times in 2020 and I’m sure that someone like you, who has experienced a major health issue in their life, covid19 is a major issue.

I’m trying to do my bit as both sets of my parents had to shield due to health issues, with going to restaurants and wildlife parks. I’m also part of the government’s National covid19 survey and have put myself forward to help with the vaccine trial.

I send this email because I have been to Bluewater twice (I have raised it with them as well) but there appears to be no change and being honest it’s not really there fault but us. Too many people are ignoring the one way system and not social distancing and so many are not wearing face masks

I’m on holiday at the moment and went to a wildlife park, you have to book online   I have no idea why as there were so many people there ignoring the government’s simple instructions.

I’ve raised an issue via the government’s covid19 website because a pub I visited this week several Covid19 instructions were not followed, I mean my wife got a glass for her drink with lipstick still on it, that’s bad enough during normal times, but covid19 times it’s unreal.

So my question is. Will you do anything as I don’t want this virus as I have a lung issue and I want life back to normal?

    Regards

    Michael

  • Week 22 –July 27th 2020 – Week 19 of lockdown

With the new door in, we had to get a new door bell and with my security back ground and COVID19 around we decided to go for a ring bell. So protected in more ways then one.

The quality of the picture is amazing. I mean it turns me into an handsome guy 🙂
