Around 1pm Claire called and said she was being kept in, could I take some stuff up. So I packed a bag and got to the hospital again.

Put a face mask on and walked in with my hospital crutch. At reception I was told to wait and someone would come down to collect the bag from me.

20 minutes later I was still standing there, I asked the receptionist to call up again, I could see she was getting no answer. I thought sod this. Now this is Covid19 and shouldn’t be able to go anywhere in the hospital.

About 10 minutes later, Claire was shocked to see me standing in front of her, not once was I stopped or questioned. I said to her, don’t ask, here is your bag.

On Friday, mid-morning I get a call can you bring up my insulin, I said pardon, you’re in a hospital, yes but they don’t have the insulin. Unbelievable.

This time, I just put on my mask and took my hospital crutch again and just walked straight in and all the way to Claire’s bed, again not asked who I was and Claire bed was at the far end of the ward too.

I’ll be honest, this has been going on for a few years now, we thought we had got it resolved, when our builder Terry had blocked the hole,  but in the last 18 months, every so often we would hear noise again in the roof.

When looking closer, realised that the guttering and the fascia had dropped. Though my DIY skills have come on leaps and bounds, this was out of my league. We arranged to get this fixed after seeing a local builder working.

    Watch this space.

23rd September Wednesday night, Claire went to bed but said she felt strange. Neither of us thought much of it.

Next day, I was up at some stupid o’clock, I heard Claire alarm go off, went upstairs and got washed and ready for the day. Claire said her head felt funny and body was feeling strange. She got washed and dressed and came down, she did her blood and it was 23 (this is very high). Usually from pasted experience, this means she isn’t well, but she didn’t know what.

She had her breakfast, but still wasn’t feeling great and did her blood again and now showing 25, I said you need to ring 111 for advice. For around the next 30 minutes, I kept saying she needed to ring 111 as she just didn’t feel right.

Finally she gave in and rang, after going through various questions, the call taker put her through to a consultant. Further questions were asked and they said are you alone or with someone, Claire I have my husband, please get him to take you to hospital.

So I drove Claire to a hospital, again because of Covid19, I wasn’t allowed in. Within in an hour (that is pretty fast in England) she was in a bed and waiting to see a consultant.

    I went home and waited.

We decided in the sales and with some vouchers that we would treat ourselves to a American fridge/freezer.

We ordered online and could only arrange for one of the old devices to be taken away.

On delivery day, I ask if they could put the other one at the top of the drive, to see if an iron monger would take it away.

On leaving, we gave them a tip, they said thank you and would take the other device as well, I asked it wouldn’t cause an issue, they replied no as no one checks anything ??

Visited Knole Park again for lockdown escape and got some pictures of deer.

On the way back to the car, I bumped into a former manager of mine from Nat West, Terry Hallett and his wife, they hadn’t changed.

I asked Mark Scholfield to guess who I saw today and he got it right first time

    Saturday September 19th:

    Friendly XI v Faversham (Away)-

Due to the estate agent visit and then a change in start time and of course a fair distance drive, I knew I would be late and I hate being late for stuff, especially if i’m playing.

Of course never played here before either, so I actually make it to Faversham in good time, the actual ground is well hidden behind a farm and needed the help of Bushy to guide me in, at least because of Covid19 i was ready. Though I had missed a text from skipper James Nash, asking if I would be happy to bat up the order.

Faversham won the toss and elected to bat, it was a team mainly made up of young future players. It was lovely day for this time of year and a very fast outfield, we got a lucky break when James got an LBW on the opener Chris James for 33.

Definitely a player for the future, Rishi Milward-Bose made a fine 53, before being bowled by Felix Quantrill in good pace bowling spell.

It was a pretty good bowling and fielding performance that we got them all out for 170.

    Faversham 1st – 170 of 31.5 overs Chris James 33, Vince Taylor 20, Rishi Milward-Bose 53, James Nash 5-0-25-2, Ian Mellor 6-1-32-3, Mick Sumner 4-0-34-2

In reply, we were led to victory by a fine knock by Dean Freeman, who seemed to have all the time to play his shots in an excellent knock of 93*.

I was in at 3 and fell for 1, again caught in close in front of the wicket, I need to keep the ball down.

    New Ash Green 1st – 172-7 of 30.3 overs, Dean Freeman 93*, Rishi Milward-Bose 4-0-13-2 won by 3 wickets.

SAT 19 SEPT 2020 PREMIER LEAGUE

    Leeds United 4 Fulham 3 FT – 2-1 HT

    Hélder Costa (5’minutes, 57’minutes), Klich (41’minutes pen), Bamford (50’minutes)

    Assists Klich (50’minutes), Bamford (57’minutes)

    Mitrovic (34’minutes pen, 67’minutes), De Cordova-Reid (62’minutes)

Assists Zambo Anguissa (62’minutes), Tete (67’minutes)

Leeds came out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Fulham in their first Premier League home game for 16 years.

Leeds’s opening two Premier League games this season have seen 14 goals, the most in a top-flight side’s opening two matches since Wolves in 1962-63.

Tony Blair was the UK prime minister and American TV sitcom Friends had just aired its final episode the last time Leeds featured in a Premier League fixture at home.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “This won’t be a constant all year. It is very difficult to maintain the efficiency [in front of goal] we have had in these first two games.

“The characteristics of our game is to create goal scoring opportunities. In these two games we have created very little but we have scored all our chances.

“We have had two very different games. Against Liverpool we tried to get close to a very big rival and today we tried to not be caught by Fulham. Both were very difficult games.”

Not to bore people, I will only update on every 5th league game.

    League position 9th
