We decided to get a valuation for the first time, was seen by a lovely estate agent and of course Claire was the closest to the valuation, but we were very happy with it and also that nothing needed to be done to the property for selling it. πŸ™‚  Actually there is, so watch this space.

So as requested after my hospital visit, I raised an eConsult to have a call with my doctor regarding my leg and foot.

After the call, I was actually asked to come to the surgery next week, which during COVID19 times is very rare.

We have lived in our home for 27 years, we can actually call it our home, as after several phone calls we finally got the house deeds this week. Good old COVID19 always here to help, but I wasn’t going to be beaten.

I decided that the new lawn needed a new lawn mower. This is the beast that will deal with that.

With more free time and getting up at silly o’clock, I decided to look at photography more.

Here are some pictures of the moon and I think I caught Jupiter in the second one.

  • Week 29 – September 14th 2020 – Week 26 of lockdown

New Year and 100 posts up and what timing. It’s my birthday week.

Thank you as always to my lovely wife Claire for arranging this and also for letting me retire.❀

It’s been a strange year, knowing that at the start I would be made redundant in 60 days’ time after 21 years plus service (21 years, 1 month and 11 days to be precise).

Feeling quite depressed about it, yes leap year day, very apt, what was I leaping into, then in  less a month time,  were in Covid19 lockdown!!

But nearly 7 months on, I feel like a new man, I can actually do DIY, the mortgage is paid off, back playing cricket (shame not bowling) chatting with my local MP and keeping my wife happy as she gets used to working from home. Β  ? More to come,

    ME
It’s Birthday and officially retirement time!!

After being hit by the cricket ball yesterday when batting, I didn’t think much of it as I was hit on the pads.

I was up early and just chilling, laying on the sofa, when Claire finally got up and was coming down the stairs, she went why have you got an elephant leg and foot?

I was hit when batting, you could actually see the ball mark on my left leg, right where going up to the hospital. Due to Covid19, I went in on myself and was allowed in after my temperature had been checked.

I was seen by the triage nurse and then waited to see a consultant.

Soon I was seeing the consultant, I have to say he was great guy to chat with, he wanted me to have an x-ray as he wanted to make sure no breaks or fracture as the leg was warm, I tried to use crutches, but I was a complete failure, so was put in a wheelchair, now this is one of the few times when you can have someone with you, so Claire took me around to the x-ray area. She was actually allowed in and watched the x-rays being taken.

Back we went and saw the consultant again, he was concerned as there was a white mass on my left leg and had been in discussion with another consultant, when I stood up and showed the leg, he was relief, it because I have bad varicose veins which was causing the mass and was the hopefully the main reason for the swelling, as my blood circulation is poor. (So after all these years I finally realised why I bruised so badly ?). Thankfully no breaks or fractures.

I was put on antibiotics and given crutches to you (they have become an interesting part of my life ?) – watch this space.

So after 16 years away and a delayed start to the season due to our friend Covid19, Leeds United played there first Premierships game.

We weren’t given an easy start either, away to the defending champions Liverpool.

This was a big week, the AJ Bell system had gone live, and so for extra income in the future, Nikki had set me up two ISA plans. Let’s hope these do well.
