This afternoon, my oyster card arrived.
Still surprised that I can get and apart from the administration fee, allows me to travel free on the train, buses and underground in the London boroughs after 09:30am and any time at the weekend.

Week 289 – September 15th – Oyster card
I wasn’t aware that turning 60, you could get free travel on British rail and the underground if you live in a London borough.
So, I went on the London Transport website and filled out a form for my Oyster card.
You do have to pay an administration fee and renewal fee, but after a couple of trips, everything will be free.

Week 287 – September 7th – Government alert test
Thankfully we weren’t in a large, crowded area when we got the alert test message. Appears this one, went much more smoothly.

Week 285 – August 23rd – New driver license
This morning in now what is a rare postal delivery, my new driver license was delivered.
Thank you again to Nick Coffin, kindly signing my documents, now in the modern world, lol.

Week 284 – August 13th – Dell Latitude 5550 feedback
As I was up early today, I gave feedback to Dell, regarding the new laptop i had purchased.
I thought it made a change that they had given awhile before asking for feedback.
Overall, the laptop, has been a godsend, especially regarding my work. Excellent purchase and thank you to the input from Mark.

Week 282 – August 1st – Met Nick regarding driver license
After the doctor’s appointment, I drove over to Speldhurst to meet with Nick, so that he could sign the paperwork, that I could get a photocard driver license to move into the modern world lol.
In all the years I have known him, I did not realise how much he was interested in cycling. I was shocked to see how much a bicycle could be and even a frame.
See you don’t know everything about someone.

Every small win counts.

Week 281 – July 27th – England win Euro’s final
Just after the presentation was completed, we left our seats and went to the ground level and manage to capture the moment that the England women won the Euro Final via penalties. The atmosphere was crazy.

Chloe Kelly, who scored the iconic winner at Wembley in the final of Euro 2022, was the hero again as she converted the decisive spot-kick to seal victory after Spain had missed three in a row, with Hannah Hampton saving two of them.
It is the first time an England team has won a major trophy on foreign soil and seals manager Sarina Wiegman’s status as one of the world’s greatest with her third successive European title – achieved with two countries.
The Lionesses also became the first side to win a single-legged Euros final having been behind at half-time, proving they are the ultimate comeback queens.
They looked down and out when they trailed for a fourth time at Euro 2025, having conceded first in all three knockout matches – but they would not allow their story to end in such a feeble manner.
Mariona Caldentey’s first-half header had put Spain in control, but it did little to dampen England’s unwavering belief and they refused to be beaten.
Substitute Kelly’s introduction changed things when she came on for a struggling Lauren James, named in the starting XI by Wiegman despite doubts over an ankle injury in the build-up.
Kelly’s whipped cross picked out Alessia Russo, who headed the ball into the far corner to make it 1-1.
The Lionesses then dug deep, putting in endless blocks and playing for a shootout, knowing they had what it took to deliver under pressure and complete the greatest achievement by an England team.
So, what a day for women’s sport, highest attendance at a women’s domestic T20 cricket match, and then the England women retained the Euro and first time an English senior side as won a competition on foreign soil. Go ladies.

Week 281 – July 21st – Work out
After a few games of playing cricket, I felt when I was running, I was running in treacle.
So, after some communication, decided to go and see Andy a personal trainer and have a workout once a week to see if I can resolve this issue.
From discussion, we believe that this is down to the varicose veins and blood not flowing through my legs well.
