Week 171 – June 25th – Surrey v Lancashire – Part 1
The forecast for Sunday was going to be good, so we decided to go to the Oval to see Surrey v Lancashire for the 1st day of the County Championship, so this at least shouldn’t be an early finish. LOL.

Surrey fielders practising there slip catching before the start of the match.
Rory Burns and Keaton Jennings at the toss of the coin, with umpires Michael Gough and Mike Burns, plus match referee Phil Whitticase
The two teams playing in this County Championship match. quite a few current or former international players playing. Impressive that the county championship can still have all these international players playing.

Week 171 – June 24th – Time to leave
All holidays have to come to end at some point, today was that day. We had a great time and it went well, first time that we had been away with Claire’s parents but with her mum sadly missing.

Final look with a panoramic shot of where we were staying in the Lake District. Final picture of the stay, again I hope you have enjoyed them?
The journey home though, was a nightmare, with an accident holding us up on the A1. Then as we got close to the Blackwall tunnel, we find out it was closed due to work to remove a bridge, but there had been no signs to advise us. Why not?
Finally home and completed 1169 driving miles for the week. I think I need a rest now from driving.

Rosa Gentle Hermione rose These are the final pictures and videos from the visit to the Alnwick castle and gardens. I hope you liked them?
The weather was perfect for the visit, which was good, as we had booked the castle in advance.
Just remember if you visit, they are separate entrance costs.
