  • Week 313 – March 6th – Nurse call

After my appointment with the SVT consultant, she said she would be sending a letter to my surgery so that I could get new stockings for my legs.

This morning I had the call from the nurse to put in a new request to the pharmacy for them.

It’s good when things run smoothly.

  • Week 313 – March 3rd – Good News

Login required to see this posting.

  • Week 312 – March 1st – 18 stone again

Looks like I’m on a rollercoaster ride with the 18 stone mark.

Back over 18 stone, now weighing 18st 1lb.

I will have a battle this year with the 18 stone mark.

  • Week 312 – February 27th – Swelling attacks

After chasing the hospital regarding my earlier email, I finally got a response this afternoon from the doctor regarding taking of the medication.

As symptoms (swelling) have been stable /resolved lately, kindly try to slowly wean and stop Fexofenadine

If you are on Fexofenadine 1 tablet daily, reduce to alternate day in the first instance and continue for 6-8 weeks, and then stop. You can restart if symptoms re appear in future.”

Let’s see what happens with reducing the medication.

  • Week 311- February 18th – Not Impressed

I was looking back through some emails and came across one about changing our Gas direct debit, as the previous one was ending and the price showing was cheaper.

I then looked at the account where the debit comes from and scrolled back, and we were still paying the same amount from the previous agreement.

As always trying to find a number to contact them, wasn’t easy, but once I did and got through the electronic questions to speak with someone, I was surprised that you had to change the debit amount, it wasn’t done automatically.

I said, nowhere did it say on the agreement that you had to do that.

You must keep an eye on these companies, even more so during the cost-of-living times.

  • Week 311 – February 18th – Blood test results

After the blood tests last week, I decided to have a look on the NHS app to see if I could see the results, which I could, and they were all OK regarding the diabetic check.

I like that you can see stuff on the NHS app that you would have no clue about in the past unless you rang up, which you meant waiting in a queue to be answered.

  • Week 311 – February 16th – SVT

Well, this was a fun journey, Sidcup to Kings Collage Hospital, as there is no direct train route.  I was going to change at Lewisham, but as we left Sidcup, I decided not to, instead I went to London Bridge.

Then went down to the underground and took the Jubilee line to Westminster and changed to the District and Circle line to Victoria, where I then took a train out to Denmark Hill, before walking down to the hospital.

The only good thing today, was that I saw the consultant early, as after looking at my leg, said I will get you to have another scan. Why not do this before the appointment?

The other question is how long will I have to wait and will it more local for the scan or up to Kings Collage Hospital again?

  • Week 310 – February 13th – Blood test

This afternoon I had a blood test check on how my diabetic control was.
