Week 332 – July 16th – Flying to Aachen

Today we are off to Aachen via Dusseldorf for our hotel stay.

We were picked up at 6am to be taken to Heathrow and for the most part the M25 played ball, we arrived in plenty of time to check in which was helped as we were flying business class.

What this means with British Airways, was the middle seat was empty.  The flight was smooth and we were lucky when we got to German customs with the new laws in place, we got through very quickly, we had to wait for our bags longer lol.

The driver was waiting for us, and this was the first time we have been on the autobahn where there was no speed limit and the driver was happy to go over 100mph, though it didn’t feel like that.

We stay at the Mecure hotel in Aachen.

Once settle in, we went for a walk to check where we would be picked up tomorrow, we were a bit concerned when we got to the meeting point as it was just a side street, but we noticed a family were looking around and they were also going to the Grand Prix tomorrow, so we couldn’t be in the wrong place, and it’s one of the good things about booking with Hubens travel company, as I was able to contact them and they said we were in the right place.

Another good thing with using this travel agents, was they had booked a restaurant for us, after I chose it, called the Al Triangolo.

What a wonderful restaurant, would go back here, if we are in Aachen again, stunning food and excellent service.
