Week 333 – July 20th – Trip home could have been better

We could have a lay in today, before leaving, the only day that we went to the breakfast, which was an excellent buffet of food.

Once done, we packed and then went for a walk, it was strange to see an CA and Woolworth shops as they are no longer around in England and thought there brand no longer existed.

We checked out, and we could see whilst we were waiting quite a few other people had used this as their base for the race.

We went outside around 1:50pm for our 2pm pickup, from my workdays, I was expecting the pickup to be early or at least on time, but it got to about 10 minutes after and nothing, I called the called the number on the information but it went to a message in German.  So, I went inside and asked the receptionist if they could ring and listen to the message, they said it was a busy message.

I then noticed that I was getting WhatsApp messages from the driver that had collected us, not sure how, but he said he hadn’t been assigned to us and couldn’t see us on the system.

I called our travel agents again, who started to find out what was going on.

Then the previous driver said, he found us on the system and we would have someone with us in 7 minutes, just at that time, our travel agents rang back and said they were arranging something with the hotel, I said we would hopefully be good, which turns out we were. Not what you need for getting home, but we still got to the airport, with plenty of time to check in and get through the new security again.

I would highly recommend Hubens travel agents as they are always there for you from the moment you start the booking process to you getting home.

Claire took the two pictures above as we were coming into land at Heathrow airport.

The trip from Heathrow to home, was under one hour, I can’t remember ever doing that journey in under an hour.
